How would you like to stop the clicking, release the locking, and wake up pain-free?

Menopause, Hot Flushes, Night Sweats & Hormonal Imbalance Treatment

At ReVibe Centre, we combine the ancient wisdom of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine with the most modern scientific findings to treat the root cause of your pain.

  • Benefits of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine:

Acupuncture, herbal medicine and supplements offer a gentle, targeted approach to managing menopause by addressing the root causes of discomfort—specifically hormonal fluctuations and nervous system instability.

To regulate your body's internal thermostat, this treatment helps clear excess heat, calm anxiety, and nourish depleted energy reserves. Rather than just suppressing symptoms, it supports your body’s natural ability to cool and balance itself, reducing the intensity of hot flushes and night sweats.

Many patients report a significant improvement in sleep quality, mood, and energy, often noticing a restored sense of calm from the very first treatment, with greater hormonal stability over time.

  • Immediate & Lasting Relief Result!

Many patients notice an improvement during their very first session. Subsequent treatments typically bring a progressive reduction in pain and numbness, with the relief from each session lasting longer than the one before.

For optimal results, a course of treatment typically consists of 3 to 5 sessions scheduled closely together, such as once or twice per week.

  • Covered by Insurances and Direct Billing

    Seamless Payments, Zero Hassle.
Forget about insurance forms. We offer direct billing with most major providers so you can focus on what truly matters—your health.

WHAT TO EXPECT

INITIAL CONSULTATIONA & TREATMENT: Assessment, Treatment & A Plan for Lasting Results.

Your first 60-minute visit is designed to help you regain control of your body. We look beyond the label of "menopause" to understand your unique hormonal pattern and provide personalized immediate support for your symptoms.

  • Deep-Dive Hormonal Assessment: We investigate the specific rhythm of your symptoms—from the timing of your night sweats to your energy levels—to identify the underlying imbalance. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), this is often a Kidney Yin Deficiency, meaning your body lacks the "cooling fluids" needed to keep your internal thermostat stable.
  • Your First Treatment: You will receive acupuncture in your very first session to begin regulating your nervous system. We target specific points to clear excess heat, reduce the intensity of hot flushes, and calm the mind to help you finally get a restful night's sleep.
  • Root Cause Regulation: Rather than just suppressing symptoms, our goal is to nourish your body's depleted energy reserves (Jing). This helps smooth the hormonal transition, stabilizing your mood and reducing anxiety.
  • A Personalized Recovery Plan: You will leave with a roadmap for long-term balance, including cooling dietary recommendations (foods that build Yin), specific Herbal Medicine advice to replenish moisture from the inside out, and lifestyle adjustments to protect your sleep.

Don’t suffer in silence – Book Your Consultation Now to start your journey toward comfort and wellness.

Holistic Relief for Menopause Symptoms

Menopause is a natural life transition, but its symptoms can be disruptive to your daily life. Hot flushes (hot flashes), night sweats, insomnia, irritability, and other symptoms stem from hormonal fluctuations as estrogen levels decline. These issues can lead to sleepless nights, stress at work, and a diminished quality of life. ReVibe Centre offers a holistic menopause treatment program that addresses both the physical symptoms and underlying hormonal imbalances, without the risks associated with hormone replacement therapy (HRT). We blend time-tested therapies like acupuncture and herbal medicine with modern understanding of women’s health to provide natural relief.

Studies have shown that acupuncture can significantly reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes in menopausal women, improving overall quality of life. Many of our patients begin to notice improvements in symptoms such as fewer flushes, better sleep, and reduced anxiety after just a few sessions. Our goal is to balance your hormones naturally and ease your transition through menopause so you can feel like yourself again. Whether you’re seeking hot flushes relief in Central Newfoundland or acupuncture for night sweats in Grand Falls-Windsor, our integrated approach offers safe and effective solutions.

Our Services: Acupuncture, TCM, Cupping & More

At ReVibe Centre, we provide a comprehensive range of holistic treatments to support you through menopause and beyond. Your personalized care plan may include a combination of the following services, tailored to your needs:

Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture is the cornerstone of our menopause treatment. By inserting ultra-fine needles at specific points, we stimulate your body’s nervous and endocrine systems to promote balance. Acupuncture helps regulate body temperature, which can significantly reduce hot flashes and night sweat episodes. It also encourages the release of endorphins and promotes circulation, easing symptoms like mood swings, headaches, and fatigue. In TCM theory, menopause is often associated with energy imbalances (such as kidney yin deficiency leading to heat symptoms), so our Registered Acupuncturists target the root causes of your discomfort rather than just masking symptoms. Each session is calming – many patients even find it so relaxing that they fall asleep during treatment! The result is not only symptom relief but an overall improvement in energy, sleep quality, and emotional well-being.

In addition to acupuncture, our practitioners may incorporate TCM herbal medicine as needed. Customized herbal formulas or natural supplements can help nourish your body and rebalance hormones gently. For example, herbal ingredients used in TCM have been shown to support menopausal women by relieving hot flushes and improving mood. We also provide dietary guidance based on TCM and nutritional science – advising on foods that support hormone health and those that may trigger symptoms. Simple adjustments like reducing caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods (common hot flash triggers) and eating a nutrient-rich diet can make a big difference. Our team will ensure you have the knowledge and supplement recommendations (e.g. calcium, vitamin D, or other doctor-approved supplements) to complement your in-clinic treatments and maintain results.

Fire Cupping Therapy

Fire cupping is another therapy we offer to enhance menopause symptom relief. This traditional technique involves placing warm cups on the skin to create gentle suction. Cupping helps increase blood flow and release muscle tension, which can be especially beneficial if you’re experiencing anxiety, body aches, or sleep disturbances related to menopause. By alleviating muscle tension and improving circulation, fire cupping promotes deep relaxation and can reduce stress levels. Since stress is a common trigger for hot flushes and night sweats, cupping therapy indirectly helps to calm those flare-ups by soothing your nervous system. Many patients describe feeling a sense of relief and lightness after a cupping session, as it flushes out tension and boosts overall well-being. Cupping is a comfortable, enjoyable addition to your treatment plan that can amplify the benefits of acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Personalized Nutrition & Lifestyle Advice

True holistic care means looking at your whole lifestyle, not just providing in-clinic treatments. Our menopause program includes personalized dietary and lifestyle guidance to support your hormonal balance. During your initial consultation, our practitioners will discuss your diet, exercise habits, sleep patterns, and stress levels. We’ll then provide realistic recommendations to help manage symptoms at home. This might involve nutrition tips – for instance, incorporating more phytoestrogen-rich foods (like flaxseed or soy in moderation), plenty of fruits and vegetables, and staying hydrated to help manage hot flashes. We’ll also advise on avoiding or moderating certain foods and drinks that can trigger night sweats or mood swings (such as coffee, alcohol, and spicy dishes).

In addition, we emphasize stress management and self-care routines, as high stress can worsen hormonal symptoms. Simple practices like mindfulness, gentle exercise (e.g. yoga or walking), and adequate rest can significantly improve menopause symptoms. Our team may suggest relaxation techniques or refer you to our in-house massage therapy or counselling services for further support, if appropriate. Every recommendation is tailored to you – by following a personalized plan that might include exercise guidance, sleep hygiene tips, and herbal or vitamin supplements, you’ll amplify the effects of your treatments and feel more in control of your health.

Compassionate, Customized Care Plans

No two women experience menopause exactly the same way, which is why we believe in personalized treatment plans. At your initial 60-minute consultation, we take time to understand your health history, current symptoms, and goals. This thorough assessment allows our practitioners to diagnose any underlying TCM patterns contributing to your hormonal imbalance. You will receive your first treatment (acupuncture and/or cupping) during this visit for immediate relief, and we will outline a clear recovery plan for lasting results. Your plan may include a recommended course of acupuncture sessions (often a series of 3–6 sessions spaced about a week apart to start), as well as lifestyle and dietary advice to follow at home. We empower you with knowledge and actionable steps – from specific exercises to do, to herbal remedies to try – so you can actively participate in your healing journey.

Throughout your care, we encourage feedback and will adjust your plan as your symptoms improve. Our goal is to not only provide relief in the short term but to achieve long-term hormonal balance and health. Many patients continue with occasional “maintenance” sessions monthly or seasonally, which help keep symptoms at bay and support overall wellness. At ReVibe Centre, you’ll never feel like just another appointment – you’ll receive one-on-one attention and a nurturing partnership in your health.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How can acupuncture and TCM help with menopause symptoms?

Acupuncture works by stimulating specific points in the body to regulate the nervous system and hormonal pathways. For menopause, this means acupuncture can help reduce hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and more by promoting balance in the body. Research supports its benefits – for example, a meta-analysis of 12 studies found that acupuncture significantly reduced the frequency and severity of hot flashes and improved overall menopause-related symptoms and quality of life. TCM herbal medicine can complement acupuncture by nourishing the body and addressing imbalances (such as yin and yang or organ energy deficiencies) that are believed to cause symptoms in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. Together, acupuncture and TCM provide a drug-free way to relieve menopause symptoms and enhance your well-being. Many women also report improvements in sleep and stress levels through these treatments, making menopause much more manageable.

Does acupuncture for menopause hurt? Is it safe?

Acupuncture is virtually painless and very safe when performed by a trained professional. The needles are extremely thin – about the width of a hair – and most patients feel only a tiny pinch, if anything at all. In fact, a lot of people find acupuncture deeply relaxing; it’s not uncommon to doze off during a session! Our practitioners use single-use, sterile needles and follow strict hygiene protocols for your safety. You might feel a mild tingling or warmth at some points – this is a normal sign that your body’s healing response is activated. Serious side effects are exceedingly rare. You may have a bit of soreness or a small bruise at a needle site occasionally, but overall acupuncture is a gentle, low-risk therapy. We will discuss your health history to ensure acupuncture is appropriate for you (it’s safe for most people, including older adults). If you have any concerns, we’re happy to explain everything before we begin. Rest assured, your comfort is our priority.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

The number of sessions can vary depending on the individual and the severity of your symptoms. Some patients notice improvements even after the first session, such as better sleep or a calmer mood. However, for lasting relief of persistent symptoms like hot flushes or joint pains, a series of treatments is usually recommended. At ReVibe Centre, we often suggest starting with 3–5 weekly sessions as a initial course, since acupuncture’s benefits are cumulative and build over multiple treatments. Consistency is key – for example, weekly sessions for a month can significantly retrain your body’s response to hormonal fluctuations. After this initial phase, we will re-assess your progress. Many patients move to biweekly or monthly maintenance sessions once their acute symptoms are under control. We tailor the plan to you: if your night sweats are, say, 80% better after four sessions, we might continue with monthly visits to keep you stable. Our aim is to get you to a point where you feel well and require only occasional tune-ups. We will always communicate openly about your treatment timeline and make adjustments based on how you’re feeling. Remember, every woman’s journey is unique – we’ll find the right pace and number of sessions that work for you.

Is it covered by my insurance, and do I need a doctor’s referral?

Yes, acupuncture for menopause and other health issues is covered by most extended health insurance plans in Newfoundland and Labrador. ReVibe Centre offers direct billing to many major insurers, which means we can bill your insurance company on your behalf – saving you the hassle of submitting claims yourself. Most clients find that their plans cover a certain amount per visit or per year for acupuncture (often listed under paramedical or naturopath services). It’s a good idea to check your individual insurance policy for details, or we can assist you in understanding your coverage.

For the majority of patients, no doctor’s referral is needed to begin acupuncture treatments. You can simply book an appointment with us directly. The only exception is if your acupuncture treatments are being covered under a specific circumstance like a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) insurance claim, which may require a doctor’s note – but this is not common for menopause care. Generally, you are free to seek acupuncture and TCM care without any prior approval. This allows you to get help right away instead of waiting for specialist referrals. If you’re unsure, feel free to call us and we can clarify any referral or insurance questions. We aim to make the process as smooth as possible so you can focus on healing.

What can I expect during my first visit?

On your first appointment, we’ll have a comprehensive consultation to truly understand your situation. Our practitioner will ask about your health history, current symptoms (frequency of hot flashes, sleep patterns, mood changes, etc.), and any concerns or goals you have. This conversation is unrushed and confidential – we encourage you to share anything that might be relevant, from stress factors to diet and lifestyle. After the assessment, you will receive an initial acupuncture treatment tailored to your needs. We’ll explain what we’re doing as we go, so you’re always comfortable. The treatment is done in a peaceful, private room; you’ll lie on a comfortable therapy table, and once the needles are in place, you get to rest quietly for about 20-30 minutes. Many patients feel very relaxed or even take a nap during this time. Following the acupuncture (and possibly a brief cupping session or acupressure massage if included in your plan), we will discuss our findings and recommendations. You’ll leave with a personalized treatment plan which may include lifestyle tips and a suggested schedule for follow-up sessions (for example, coming in once a week for a few weeks). We’ll also answer any other questions you have. Expect to spend about 60 minutes in total at your first visit. By the end, you should feel more at ease, hopeful, and informed about the path forward.
