WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?

Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine therapy practiced for over 3000 years.

It is how we fine tune the circulation to achieve optimal functioning of your entire body, providing more nourishing and faster healing to the tissues and organs for a better recovery and a life free of pain.

Acupuncture is practically painless as we use very fine needles which do not damage tissues. Actually, most people feel incredibly relaxed and refreshed after a treatment.

WHAT IS CUPPING AND FIRE-CUPPING?

Fire Cupping is also an ancient technique used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Cupping is a wonderful way to enhance circulation in the tissues, relieving tension and pain while reducing inflammation.

Though cupping can left some interesting marks, you may be shocked at how much tension and pain vanished after a treatment.

The treatment itself is virtually pain free, you should feel a strong pulling sensation from the cups, that quickly goes away as the tension in the muscles get released.

WHAT IS GUA SHA OR SCRAPPING?

Gua Sha, also called scrapping, utilizes a specific technique where your practitioner will gently enhance blood flow to an area.

Rubbing the skin’s surface breaks any stagnation, bringing up a small mark, while reducing inflammation and promote healing in the tissues.

WHAT IS NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE?

Naturopathic Medicine is the art and science of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease based on natural therapies and techniques. It is a distinct system of primary care that addresses the root cause of illness and disease.

The foundation of Naturopathic Medicine is built upon the belief that the body has the natural ability to heal itself. Naturopathic methods are used to stimulate the body’s own healing mechanisms. Naturopathic Medicine can be used in conjunction with, and complementary to, mainstream medical treatments.

Whether you are just not feeling as good as you should, or you have been diagnosed with a specific disease or condition, Naturopathic Medicine can help you find your way back to optimal health. Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) help you to be the best at whatever it is you do, be it a parent, professional, laborer, or enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

Naturopathic Doctors treat a wide range of conditions  including depression, cancer, arthritis, food intolerance, skin problems, chronic fatigue and pain, and much more. Many common conditions can be reduced or even eliminated by a simple change in diet. Whatever the condition, NDs have a variety of treatment methods to help you feel better.

In Canada, the naturopathic medical profession’s infrastructure includes accredited educational institutions, professional licensing and continuing education, national standards of practice, participation in many federal health committee initiatives, and a commitment to state-of-the-art scientific research.
